Sockinu
Shiba Inu mix. Female, two years, nine kilos, one sock.
She came in on a Tuesday in a cardboard box with the sock already on her head. The volunteer who checked her in wrote "hat" in the notes and left it at that.

About this dog
Sockinu is calm in the kennel and easy on a lead. On the subject of laundry she is unreachable. Three times a day she walks the hallway and comes back with exactly one sock, and where it goes after that is her business.
We have stopped calling it stealing. Around the fourth week a volunteer wrote "filing system" on the whiteboard and the name held. The hat arrived with her and has never come off. Attempts to remove it are logged in her file, along with the outcome, which is always the same.

Had her for six weeks. Best six weeks my washing machine has had in years, and it has had a hard life.

Great dog, great listener, terrible about the hamper. I am giving four because of the hamper.

Our kids adore her and she sleeps at the foot of the bed with her hat on. We have made our peace with the drawer.
